Electronic Communications Consent

1. Overview

EnnHealth Psychiatry uses electronic communications — including SMS text messages, email, and secure messaging — to support your care and enhance your experience. This consent explains what types of messages you may receive, how your information is protected, and your rights to opt out.

By providing your phone number and/or email address and scheduling an appointment, you consent to receive electronic communications from EnnHealth Psychiatry as described in this policy.

2. Types of Communications

3. SMS Text Messages

What to Expect

• You may receive up to 8 text messages per month related to your care
• Messages are sent from EnnHealth Psychiatry or our authorized messaging platform
• Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan
• Text messages will never contain detailed clinical or diagnostic information

Opt-Out of SMS

You can stop receiving text messages at any time:

• Reply STOP to any text message from EnnHealth
• Call us at (407) 796-2406
• Email contact@ennhealth.com with "Opt-Out SMS" in the subject line

After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message. You can opt back in at any time by texting START or contacting our office.

4. Email Communications

What to Expect

• Appointment confirmations and reminders
• Telehealth session links and instructions
• Billing statements and payment receipts
• Practice announcements and policy updates
• Wellness resources (DPC members only)

Email Security

• Standard email is NOT considered a HIPAA-secure method of communication
• We will not include detailed PHI, diagnoses, or treatment information in standard emails
• Clinical communications and sensitive information are sent only through our HIPAA-compliant secure messaging platform
• Appointment confirmation emails contain only your name, appointment date/time, provider, and service type

Opt-Out of Email

You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails (practice updates, wellness resources) by:

• Clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email
• Emailing contact@ennhealth.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line

Note: You cannot opt out of transactional emails related to your active care, including appointment confirmations, billing notices, and telehealth session links. These are necessary for your treatment.

5. Secure Messaging

For clinical communications, we use a HIPAA-compliant secure messaging platform. Secure messaging is the preferred method for:

• Discussing symptoms, medications, or treatment concerns
• Requesting prescription refills
• Sharing lab results or clinical documents
• Provider-patient conversations between appointments

Secure messages are encrypted end-to-end and are part of your medical record. Response times vary by plan:

• Essential DPC: Response within 48 hours
• Complete DPC: Same-day response
• Premium DPC: Same-day response
• Insurance-based: Response within 2-3 business days

6. Risks of Electronic Communication

You acknowledge and understand the following risks:

• Interception: Standard SMS and email can potentially be intercepted by third parties, despite our best efforts
• Employer access: If you use a work phone or email, your employer may have access to those communications
• Shared devices: Messages may be seen by others who have access to your phone, email, or devices
• Delivery failures: Messages may not be delivered due to network issues, spam filters, or incorrect contact information
• Not for emergencies: Electronic messages are NOT monitored 24/7 and should never be used for emergencies

7. Your Responsibilities

• Keep your contact information (phone number, email) up to date with our office
• Notify us immediately if you change your phone number or email address
• Secure your personal devices with passwords, PINs, or biometric locks
• Do not forward clinical messages to unsecured email accounts
• Contact us if you suspect unauthorized access to your communications

8. Data Retention

• Secure messages: Retained as part of your medical record per our Privacy Policy
• SMS messages: Not stored by EnnHealth beyond delivery confirmation
• Email communications: Retained for 7 years per Florida record retention requirements

9. TCPA Compliance

EnnHealth Psychiatry complies with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). By providing your mobile phone number:

• You consent to receive autodialed and/or pre-recorded text messages related to your care
• Your consent is not a condition of receiving treatment
• You can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP
• We will not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Electronic Communications Consent from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We will notify you of significant changes via email or SMS.
