Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our services, insurance, appointments, medications, and what to expect.

Getting Started

You meet with your provider via secure HD video from any device — phone, tablet, or computer. Appointments work just like an in-person visit: you discuss symptoms, treatment options, and care plans. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. All you need is a private space and an internet connection.

Your first visit is a 60-minute comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Your provider conducts a detailed clinical interview covering your current symptoms, medical history, family history, and treatment goals. You'll leave with initial clinical impressions and a personalized care plan. For some conditions like ADHD, a formal diagnosis may require additional follow-up visits.

Most new patients are seen within 3-5 business days. DPC (Direct Psychiatry Care) members get next-day availability. You can view open appointments and book directly through our online calendar — no phone call needed.

No. You do not need a referral to schedule with EnnHealth. You can book directly through our website. Some insurance plans (particularly HMOs) may require a referral for coverage — we can help you verify this before your first visit.

We are licensed and provide telehealth services in 30+ states across the United States. You can view our full licensing map on our homepage. If you relocate, your care continues as long as you move to a state where we're licensed.

Insurance & Pricing

We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), Humana, Oscar, Ambetter, Medicare, Tricare, and Molina. We verify your benefits before your first visit at no charge. Compare insurance vs. DPC →

With insurance, you pay your standard copay per visit — typically $20-$50 for in-network mental health services. We handle all claims, billing, and prior authorizations. There are no additional fees.

Our Direct Psychiatry Care (DPC) plans start at $99/month and include visits, medication management, unlimited provider messaging, and priority scheduling. No surprise bills, no insurance paperwork, no hidden fees. View pricing →

DPC is a subscription-based model where you pay a flat monthly fee for access to psychiatric care — no insurance needed. Plans include office visits, medication management, unlimited messaging with your provider, and priority scheduling. It's ideal for those without insurance, with high deductibles, or who prefer a simpler payment model.

Medications

Yes. Our board-certified providers can prescribe psychiatric medications — including stimulants for ADHD — via telehealth in compliance with state and federal regulations. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

Yes, when clinically appropriate. Stimulant medications for ADHD and other controlled substances can be prescribed via telehealth in compliance with DEA and state regulations. Regular follow-up appointments are required for safe prescribing and monitoring.

Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing analyzes your genes to predict how your body processes certain medications. It helps your provider choose the right medication — with fewer side effects and a higher chance of working. It's a simple at-home cheek swab — no blood draw or office visit required. It depends on the medication. Stimulants for ADHD often work within days. Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs) typically take 2-4 weeks to reach full effect. Mood stabilizers may take several weeks. Your provider will set realistic expectations and schedule follow-ups to monitor your progress.

Conditions We Treat

Yes. The ADHD diagnostic process can begin via telehealth with an initial screening, standardized rating scales, and symptom history review. A formal ADHD diagnosis may require multiple visits and additional information sources. Learn more about our ADHD services →

Both. We provide individual and group psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused approaches) as well as medication management. Many patients benefit from a combined approach. Your provider will recommend the best treatment plan for your specific needs.

Appointments & Policies

Yes. Continuity of care is important to us. You see the same board-certified provider at every appointment — no rotating clinicians, no retelling your story. Your provider knows your history, your goals, and your treatment plan.

We require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. We understand that life happens — please reach out if you need to reschedule. View full cancellation policy →

Absolutely. We are fully HIPAA-compliant. All telehealth sessions use encrypted, secure video. Your medical records and personal information are protected with the same standards as any healthcare provider. View privacy policy →

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). EnnHealth does not provide emergency or crisis services. For non-emergency concerns between appointments, DPC members can message their provider directly.
